Who is MainStage for?
MainStage is designed for students aged 8–16 who are ready to train with focus, discipline, and commitment.
This programme is suitable for:
Students with prior drama or performance experience seeking to refine their technique
Motivated young performers ready to challenge themselves in a structured training environment
Students preparing for, or working towards, a Trinity College London Acting or Speech & Drama examination
Young people who respond positively to professional expectations and guided artistic development
MainStage is not a general holiday camp. It is an intensive training programme designed for students who are serious about developing their performance and communication skills.
Dedicated beginners are welcome, provided they demonstrate enthusiasm, maturity, and a genuine willingness to engage fully.
Places are intentionally limited to ensure personalised coaching and a high-quality training experience.
Prior acting experience is not essential. However, this programme is designed for students who are focused, highly motivated, and genuinely committed to developing their performance skills. It is best suited to young performers who are ready to work seriously, take direction, and fully engage in an intensive training environment.
Students will perform their prepared work developed throughout the week.
The examination takes place at DPAC on the final day of the programme.
Each student is assessed individually by an official Trinity College London examiner.
Trinity Acting and Speech & Drama qualifications are internationally recognised by Trinity College London.
Students should wear comfortable, movable clothing suitable for physical and practical work. Each student should bring:
A notebook and pen
Their chosen performance pieces (Ignite Theatre will support students in selecting and preparing these in advance)
Their own lunch, snacks, and a water bottle
Please note that Ignite Theatre operates a nut-free environment.
