How it Works

Confirmation

Once your school has applied, you’ll receive the play scripts to begin reading and selecting your preferred title.
An invoice for the festival participation fee will be sent shortly after confirmation.

Play Selection

Each school will be asked to select two plays from our list of festival titles. This allows us to distribute plays evenly across the festival and ensure a dynamic, balanced programme. Once selections are received, we’ll confirm your school’s final play allocation.

Rehearsal Period

During your rehearsal period, your students will work with your own creative team to prepare the production.
You will also receive two 2-hour workshops from Ignite Theatre to support your students with the rehearsal process. Throughout this time, the Ignite team will be available to answer questions and provide guidance to ensure your company is performance-ready.

Partner Theatre Season

Each school will perform at the festival during, an opportunity to showcase your students’ work on a fully equipped professional stage. The Ignite Theatre team and venue staff will guide schools through the technical process, creating a supportive and exciting environment for every company.

Rehearsal Resources & Support

To help you prepare, your school will receive a Festival Support Booklet containing:

Suggested rehearsal timelines and structures
Tips for working with young performers
Technical guidance and festival requirements
Helpful checklists to keep your company on track
